Illumination Design

ETSI is precertified by TxDOT in a number of different categories, which include illumination. ETSI designed the High Mast Lighting for a section of IH-10 as part of the Katy Freeway reconstruction program. This design was conducted in accordance with the TxDOT and NEC codes. The project dealt with issues such as the installation of High Mast poles adjacent to a railroad crossing, a pump station and some major utility conflicts. The work included developing alternative lighting configurations using GE's ALADAN software, reviewing the photo metrics for illuminance based on the iso-foot candle curves and calculation of voltage drops. Also, part of this project was the design of electrical circuits; wiring diagrams, plan layouts and specifications. A cost estimate along with a summary of quantities was also prepared.
